Overview
High School student Johnny Rico has everything going for him; start athlete, rich parents and the prettiest girlfriend in school, Carmen. When Carmen joins the Federation army after graduation, love struck Johnny follows her. Shortly after arriving at boot camp and being separated by rank, their hometown is destroyed by an asteroid hurled toward Earth from the distant Planet of Klendathu. Driven by the loss of his family and yearning to win back Carmen, Johnny sets out to become the greatest soldier in the Federation. After moving up in rank and being reunited with old friends, Johnny learns that the insect invaders on Klendathu are more than just mindless drones, and in turn discovers the frightening truth behind the Federation and, perhaps, humanity.
