Overview
The story centers around two men; David Dunn who is a security guard from Philadelphia and Elijah Price – a comic book specialist with a rare condition that caused his bones to be extremely fragile since birth. We meet David after a severe train crash the kills the other 131 passengers, leaving David completely unharmed. Elijah approaches David with the idea that he cannot be physically harmed, in stark contrast to Elijah who is extremely delicate. David eventually begins to listen and – with the support of his young son and guidance from Elijah – test his abilities, which include super human strength and extra-sensory perception. It is later discovered that Elijah caused several fatal disasters including the train accident in an effort to identify someone like David.
