On his first day of life as a free man after years in the slammer for robbing banks, Daniel Lucas walks into a bank to open an account, only to get caught in the middle of bumbling Ned Perry's attempted robbery. Ned takes Lucas as a hostage, and Lucas is forced to manage their getaway as police assume his complicit involvement in the heist. Ned's motive for the robbery is getting the cash to pay for his six-year-old daughter Meg's therapy to correct her lack of speech. Ned, Lucas and Meg go on the run from police, evading capturing and learning through their adventures to bond as a new kind of family that each of them craves. |
