Overview
Edward Malus is a sheriff who discovers his daughter is missing. He has his suspicions, so he takes a small plane to an island off the coast of Washington. The island is home to a cult of neo-pagans, made up primarily of women, who worship Sister Summersile. Malus questions what happens when males are born but is given an evasive answer. He finds his daughter's name crossed out on a class register and discovers the cult plans on sacrificing her in order to restore their declining honey production. Malus disguises himself in a bear costume on the day of the sacrifice and rescues his daughter. However, his daughter leads him back to Sister Summersile, and Malus realizes it was all an elaborate plot to kidnap him and not his daughter.
