Overview
Barley Blaire is a well-known British publisher. When some notebooks that possibly contain Russian secrets are delivered to another British publisher at a literary event, Barley is asked to review the material as he has some experience dealing with Russian literature. He takes on the task despite his better judgment, and soon finds that he is involved in politics, danger, and even the possibility of romance. Although Barely has only ever been a publisher, he feels like he might be up to the task.
