Jack Crab is 121 years of age. He shares the details of his colorful life with an inquisitive historian. As a boy, Jack's family was attacked by Pawnee raiders. He and his sister, Caroline, are taken captive. She escapes. Jack becomes a member of the tribe and is like a son to Old Lodge Skins. After saving the life of Younger Bear, Jack becomes Little Big Man. U.S. Cavalry troops capture a teenage Jack. He is placed with a preacher and his wife, but ends up leaving. Jack hooks up with a traveling salesman named Merriweather. When he encounters Wild Bill Hickok his life changes again. Jack's adventures land him in the 7th Calvary under Custer. Eventually, he is reunited with Old Lodge Skins. |
