Overview
When Omri turns nine, he receives a rickety old cupboard and a plastic Indian figure, along with many other presents that initially seem more exciting. However, when he places the figure inside the cupboard, an amazing thing happens. He comes to life, and Omri suddenly has a new friend and a powerful responsibility. Little Bear is the name of his tiny friend, and he has many opinions about the strange world in which he suddenly finds himself. Omri realizes that when he shuts him in the cupboard with the door closed, he returns to the world from which he came, so Little Bear is able to divide his time between the two places. How long can Omri sustain his friend and keep the secret safe?
