Overview
Burt and Verona are in their mid-thirties, enjoying their life in Denver and awaiting the birth of their first child. When they learn that Burt's parents are leaving the country for two years, they panic, unsure if they are prepared for parenthood on their own. They decide to embark on an adventure of their own, travelling the country in search of the perfect place to raise their daughter. They visit friends and family in places from Phoenix and Tucson to Miami and Montreal. Without realizing it, they gather an odd assortment of people who offer love and support. It slowly dawns on both Burt and Verona that their search for the perfect family that they can look to as role models may have lead them to a better understanding of themselves.
