Overview
Cashing in on the hysteria surrounding the apocalyptic rumors about December 21, 2012, the movie "2012" is one of many Roland Emmerich movies in which he unleashes horrific cataclysms on the world. Due to the heating up of the earth's core, it becomes apparent that the Earth will soon become uninhabitable. While the government scrambles to make provisions for the survival of a small portion of the population, a writer who stumbles onto the same info makes a desperate attempt to preserve is own family. Special effects are this movie's bread and butter, but there is also a human element as the audience grows to care about these people attempting to survive despite overwhelming odds. The movie stars Danny Glover, John Cusack and Amanda Peet.
