A twelve-year-old boy named Henry Rowengarter has always dreamed of professionally playing baseball like his father. The dream seems impossible with his physical limitations, but after a tendon in a broken arm heals too tightly, he's left with the ability to throw amazingly fast pitches. He's quickly scoped out by baseball teams all over the region for his stunning fastballs, which can be thrown at up to 103 miles per hour. For Henry, this is a dream come true. His fresh youthfulness and spirit are a welcome change for fans and teammates alike. But when the team manager Jack decides to sell Henry's contract to the Yankees for twenty-five million dollars, Henry finds himself having to choose between his budding career and his family.
