Overview
Jack Cates is a San Francisco cop who has spent four long years searching for a drug kingpin who is known as “Ice Man.” His investigation leads him to Tyler Burroughs, who he finds at a racetrack. He observes Burroughs passing a large sum of money to Arthur Brock. A confrontation ensues in which Cates shoots and kills Brock as Burroughs flees the scene with the money. Now, Cates is in danger of being charged for killing Brock because there is no gun at the crime scene to show that he fired in self-defense. Cates must turn for help to Reggie Hammond, his friend who is a prison inmate who is scheduled to be released in a day. These two must work out their differences to save Cates’ good name and capture Ice Man.
