Overview
When novelist Paul Sheldon gets in a car accident, he's rescued by an obsessed fan named Annie Wilkes. She is a loner, who decides to bring Paul back to her house to care for him until he's healed. In between taking care of him, she reads his latest Misery book. Annie becomes filled with anger when she finds out Paul killed off the heroine. She releases here anger by bashing Paul's foot so he is unable to leave, and she forces Paul to rewrite his latest Misery book. When his agent and a sheriff begin looking for him, Paul's terrifying situation escalates.
