Overview
Magnolia charts the lives of a myriad of different people over the course of a single day. At first, their lives seem to have nothing to do with one another, but it soon transpires that they are deeply connected - as indeed all lives are. The further the day progresses, the more connections between the individuals become apparent. At some point, all of those connections will come to a head, and lives will change in a powerful way. Until then, viewers must try to disentangle the tales of a chauvinistic seminar leader, a gentle male nurse, a kind-hearted cop, an abused and drug-riddled young woman, a former quiz show star, a terminally ill television host and a host of other distinct and deeply troubled characters.
