Overview
A salvage cruiser rescues warrant officer Ellen Ripley, the sole survivor of an abandoned freighter ship, after her encounter with an alien species. During her debriefing, her corporate bosses express interest in the alien, the Xenomorph creature, that Ripley encountered. They ask her to return to the planet. Because Ripley believes the corporate heads want to destroy the deadly Xenomorph, she agrees. She joins a squad of military bug hunters, and a corporate lackey, Carter Burke, assumes control of the mission. When Burke attempts to recover the Xenomorph for use in the company’s military division, Ripley engages in a battle of wills to destroy the creature instead. The sole survivor on the colonized planet, a small girl named Newt, joins the squad as they try to escape and nuke the cursed planet.
