Overview
Roy Munson (Harrelson) was on his way to being one of the best bowlers of his time. He was young, attractive, and everything that threatened the greatness of Ernie McCracken (Murray). Following a devastating injury, which was set up by his rival, Munson's story picks up years later where he is a failed bowling goods supplier and con artist who can't pay his rent. One day, fate befalls Munson when he sees a talented bowler named Ishmael Boorg (Quaid) who cannot bowl for money because he is Amish. Together, the two of them convince Ishmael's family that they have to go on a special mission when they are actually going on a bowling tour that leads to a championship faceoff with McCracken in Reno, NV.
