Overview
Lucien de Rubempre, aka Lost Illusions, is a movie adaptation of the classic novel by Honore de Balzac. The movie follows the young poet Lucien de Rubempre, who naively leaves his home in France to pursue his dreams of becoming a great artist in Vienna. After enduring many trials and tribulations in Austria, Lucien finds himself disillusioned with his life and returns to France. Although he's not quite the person he was before, he's finally found peace and happiness in his hometown of Montsoreau. While in Italy, Lucien befriends a group of artists and intellectuals, but he soon realizes that success as a writer will never come easy. Ultimately, Lucien must choose between his dreams and his loved ones back in Paris.
