Overview
Mays Gilliam, an alderman of the 9th Ward in Washington D.C., is a small-time public servant. His humble, unassuming life is turned upside down, however, when a series of unlikely events sets him up as a leading candidate for President of the United States! Mays is joined on the campaign trail by Mitch, his supportive but sometimes difficult older brother, and his status-seeking former girlfriend, Kim. During the course of the campaign, Mays learns the upsetting truth about why he was chosen to run. The party bosses never expected him to have a chance, they just wanted someone sympathetic to hold them over until the next election cycle. Will Mays give up or will he do what it takes to win anyway?
