Overview
Dear Evan Hansen is a musical drama focusing on a high school student suffering from social anxiety disorder. His self-written therapy letter is stolen by Conner Murphy, a classmate who later commits suicide. The boy's family misinterprets the letter as meant for Hansen, inadvertently pulling him into the situation. He becomes engrossed with Murphy's past in an attempt to fit into it, creating endless confrontations along the way. These events become an indirect way for Hansen to learn more about himself and the affliction that he deals with on a consistent basis.
