The classic Charles Dickens tale about a poor young man named Pip with big dreams is given the modern treatment as the fellow's name is changed to Finn and his location becomes New York City instead of London. Once again, he is a very poor boy, and he is hopelessly in love with a spoiled girl far above his station. However, one day in his early adulthood, he is given the opportunity to really make something of himself. Thanks to the funding of a secret benefactor, Finn educates himself and becomes a successful artist, but everything that he does is ultimately in the pursuit of Estella, the only girl he has ever loved. She, too, is in New York, and he's determined to win her. |
