Overview
Elizabeth Lamm helped make a controversial decision during her past career as a U.S. security adviser that nearly destroyed her. She allowed a ruthless patriotic politician named Rachel Burke to influence her and supported a preemptive strike on a foreign terrorist group after a supposed threat to national security reached officials. They were led to believe that the terrorists were about to commit a nuclear attack on domestic soil. She told officials that she believed that the terrorists were hiding in a specific target location. After the dust settled, Libby learned that she had made a mistake. Innocent lives were lost during the strike as a result. Libby moves on with her life, but she's always hounded by her decision. Eventually, she meets a grad student, Martin, who shows her that she can't hide from her past forever. She must revisit it and tell her truth to the world before it's too late.
