Artemis Fowl II isn't a hero. The Irish teenager is the proud descendant of criminal geniuses.
After his family's ill-gotten fortune is lost and his father disappears, Artemis believes that fairies are responsible in some way. Of course, no one has actually ever proven the existence of fairies.
With the help of his loyal bodyguard, Domovoi Butler, Artemis decides to not only prove that fairies exist, but also kidnap one of their number to hold for ransom. When Artemis steals and holds hostage Holly Short, an underground fairy LEP-recon officer, he soon discovers that his master plan had a few flaws.
Artemis must try to make the most of it and survive attacks from furious fairies while searching for his missing father. |
