Overview
Charley Thompson is a teenager who yearns to move past the tough times that he has experienced in his childhood. His single father, Ray, has not offered much stability to the boy while bouncing around from town to town looking for work. After relocating to Oregon, Charley finds his way to the local racetrack and starts caring for an aging racehorse. The teenager and horse form a unique bond. When Charley discovers that his new friend could be slaughtered, the two of them grow even closer as they embark on a journey with a dream of finding a permanent home.
