Overview
Lucy Honeychurch, a proper young English lady, travels to Italy with her self-deprecating cousin Charlotte Bartlett. While in Italy, Lucy sees a shocking murder, tours the countryside and meets the fascinating yet unconventional George Emerson. Lucy is enraged and embarrassed when Charlotte interrupts her spontaneously kissing George. Determined to do the proper thing, Lucy becomes engaged to the boring Cecil Vyse. However, when George and his father move to Lucy's hometown, she is forced to confront her feelings for the free-spirited George.
