Overview
Her once great career in tatters, Nina Simone was at a cross-road. A court order forced her into a psychiatric hospital.There, she met and hired Clifton Henderson to be her assistant. Her stay in the hospital seemingly had little impact on Nina. She resumed her drinking, refused medication, and proceeded to have numerous one night stands. She also became abusive, assaulting someone as well as being verbally abusive with Clifton, who eventually quits. Nina is forced to reevaluate her choices when she has to receive treatment for cancer. Convinced to come back, Clifton helps not only Nina's body recover but her career as well.
