The atmosphere is grim. After the Romans have taking siege of Masada, a fortified city, over 900 Jewish defenders in the city committed suicide rather than surrender to the Romans. Among the few survivors in the city are for women who end up coming together in different ways. These women end up recalling and reflecting upon exactly what it was that brought each of them to Masada. In the midst of all of this looking at the past are the events that are happening in their lives now, which involve a great deal of romance, lust, drama, and pure intrigue.
