Overview
In the late 1880's on a country estate in lush Ireland a story not unlike a Greek tragedy unfolds. An aristocratic heir seduces her father's valet during a night of wistful drinking and dancing. The pair, each filled with a convoluted mix of both animosity and intense longing, engage in an evening rendezvous and hopeless scheming for a unlikely, if not forbidden, future. The couple makes a daring move in the final act of this riveting and dark film which cements their fate.
