Overview
It is 1942 and three years into World War II. Homer Macauley is a bicycle telegraph messenger in Ithaca. Although he is only fourteen years old, he has many goals and responsibilities. As his older sister, young brother and mother rely on him to be the family's breadwinner, he struggles to prove that he is the best at his job and capable of taking care of his family. Follow Homer as he comes of age during a time when the world was in turmoil and people were desperate for the news he delivered even when it was not always hopeful.
