Overview
Dances with Wolves is an epic Western film that follows Lt. John Dunbar during the time of the American Civil War. After being wounded in battle, Dunbar makes a brave and reckless strategic move that could have easily cost him his life. After being nursed back to health, Dunbar is rewarded by his commanding officer by being stationed in a remote outpost in the Wild West per Dunbar's request. He arrives to find the post abandoned and decides to man his post until he is eventually relieved. As time marches on, he eventually befriends a wolf he names Two Socks. Dunbar also befriends the local Lakota tribe and slowly becomes accepted as a member. The movie explores Dunbar's changing loyalties throughout his ordeal.
