Overview
Based on an old German legend, this is the story of a wronged man and his battle to restore justice against the tyranny of a feudal system where noblemen ruled with impunity. In sixteenth Century France in the Cevennes mountains, a privileged, greedy lord misuses his power by stealing two horses from an honest, upwardly mobile merchant. Outraged at this abuse of power and unable to obtain retribution in this crooked world, the merchant sets out not only to right his own wrong, but also the wrongs inflicted upon his fellow countrymen under this unfair system by leading a band of vigilantes intent on fighting back.
