After giving an important interview, playwright Siddalee Walker's life is turned upside down when her larger-than-life mother Viviane is mortally offended by the criticism of her in the article. With a little interference from the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, her mother's three lifelong friends, Sidalee returns to her native Louisiana still unwilling to mend family fences. The Ya-Yas reveal the tragic secrets in Viviane's past, hoping to reconcile the pair.
