Overview
It is Paris in the 1860's and Therese Raquin is a very unhappy young woman. She has been forced into a marriage to her chronically ill cousin, Camille, by her pushy Aunt Madame Raquin. She is forced to work as a clerk in a shop all day and must endure the evenings of Madame Raquin playing dominoes with Madame's strange group of friends. Then she meets Laurent, whose mystery intrigues her. They begin a torrid affair that unfortunately ends in tragedy for all those involved.
