Trailer | Overview This cult classic focuses on Frances, nicknamed "Baby." In voiceover, she recollects one of her most formative summers, when she went with her family to a summer camp and became entranced with a dance teacher named Johnny. After his regular dance partner had to drop out, she began to devote most of her free time to practicing routines with him so that they could perform together at the big talent show that would close out the summer. Other relationships in the movie are developed as well, particularly between Baby and her kind but stern father who is reluctant to see her leave her childhood behind her. Baby's sister is a good source of comic relief, particularly as she performs a grating Hawaiian song. |
