Overview
Chan Chi-Lung is a policeman who successfully infiltrated a Hong Kong gang as a young man and has operated undercover for many years. Cheung Mo-Hung, the gang's leader, suspects police infiltration of his gang after many recent failures both in criminal activity and in negotiations with rival gangs. Mo-Hung purges his organization, killing many undercover police operatives. Chi-Lung is not discovered, but he does contact his police captain to request an end to his undercover work. The captain instead sends Chi-Lung on a final assignment to the mainland to penetrate a gang trading in phony Special IDs and run by Sunny, a buddy of Chi-Lung's from Mo-Hung's gang. Chi-Lung is left in great danger when Sunny vanishes and the gang thinks that Chi-Lung is responsible.
