Overview
Ark is a mining base located on the moon. Four astronauts man this base alone. Colonel Gerard Brauchman, Dr. Lance Krauss, Ava Cameron and Bruce Johns. A meteor storm causes damage to the Ark. Ava Cameron inspects the damage caused by the meteor and unwittingly is exposed to spores that contaminate the meteor. Dr. Krauss notices that the spores grow quickly. While watching them grow, Ava is cut by the glass that contains the spores, and it enters her body. Ava begins to show signs of pregnancy and within a few hours goes into a kind of labor giving birth to a living being. The lone astronauts must survive while stranded on this isolated landscape against a being they cannot hope to understand.
