Frances Halladay is a vivacious young woman who is determined to live life on her own terms. She has long cherished the dream of living in New York City, and that is just what she is doing, though she does not technically have a place to live. An aspiring dancer, she works for a dance company but doesn't actually dance, and her deep capacity for friendship seems wasted on Sophie, who has become distant lately. Intent on pursuing her dreams to an even greater extent, Frances decides to embark upon a soul-searching journey that will take her to several different cities, including Sacramento, Paris and Poughkeepsie. Life still has a lot of surprises in store for her, and some may be better than her dreams. |
