Overview
An army sergeant named John meets a beautiful girl named Savannah after he saves her purse from the grasp of the ocean. He falls in love with her at first sight, volunteering to help her build a house. The two fall steadily more and more in love as they work. Savannah writes John letters after she returns to college, waiting for his service in the army to be over. However, he reenlists after 9/11, which puts their relationship under a great strain.
