Overview
Cole Trickle is a hotshot open-wheel racer with dreams of glory. He gets his chance when rich Chevy dealership owner Tim Daland enlists Cole to race for him in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. To help temper the raw, fiery talent of Cole, Daland coaxes the legend Harry Hogge to come out of retirement to be his crew chief. Cole struggles mightily in his first few races. He crashes and blows his engine repeatedly. Harry puts Cole though some rigorous training to learn how to race in NASCAR, and it pays off with a string of victories. However, during a big race, Cole gets involved in a nearly fatal crash. He is sent to a grueling physical rehab, where he must fight through is misery to get back onto the NASCAR circuit.
