Overview
Comedian Mike Birbiglia's self-effacing creation presents harrowing actual events in his life in a comical, fictional lens. Matt Pandamiglio is a young man with a distinctive set of issues affecting his well-being. He's romantically conflicted, having moved in with a loving girlfriend who seems to want more than he's ready to give. Professionally, he's an aspiring stand-up comic who's been relegated to grunt work at the nearby comedy club. The most serious issue that Matt faces, however, is his unusual sleepwalking disorder that pushes somnambulancy to extremes. While asleep, Matt engages in spectacularly risky stunts proving how lucky garden-variety tossers and turners actually are. If he's lucky, Matt's ridiculous bedtime exploits might leave him with a trove of material to help push his career upward.
