Corrina Washington is a spunky woman who delays her dreams of writing liner notes for the recording industry when economic necessity requires her to take a job as a housekeeper for the recently widowed advertising executive Manny Singer. Corrina manages to help Singer's daughter Molly cope with the recent death of her mother and she and the little girl form a strong bond. A growing affection develops between Singer and Washington, much to the dismay of his parents and the residents of their conservative town who disapprove of an interracial relationship. But all the while, Molly continues to serve as matchmaker between the housekeeper and her lonely father. |
