Overview
Martin Bohm lost his wife in the attacks of September 11th. In his previous life, he was a journalist for a major newspaper, but now, he can barely keep a job while caring for his autistic son. Martin's son Jake has never spoken a single word and cannot stand to be touched. Jake lives entirely in his head and spends his days writing numbers and patterns of numbers into his notebooks. After being visited by a social worker to evaluate Martin and Jake's home environment, Martin learns from a professor that Jake's numbers might not be so random. Martin follows the path of Jake's numbers to find that his son is trying to communicate through them. Clea sees Martin as a man whose life has become dominated by a child he can no longer control.
