| Overview
In New York City, a playwright named Robert Longfellow is undergoing a personal crisis. He's out of ideas, and his last play was a huge flop, not to mention the fact that his marriage is on the rocks. He decides that what he really needs is a little time away. He moves back to Los Angeles for a while, and he is glad to reconnect with his mom and old girlfriend. Life begins looking up. Then things change abruptly when his mom's next-door neighbor Gus kidnaps him and holds him hostage. While police surround the house, Robert calms Gus down by teaching him some improvisational exercises. He takes to it well, and soon the two of them begin unloading years of secrets on each other. |
