Trailer | Overview The 332nd Fighter Group, first African-American fighter pilot squadron, has largely remained on the sidelines of the World War II air battle, despite having the same training as their white counterparts. Col. A.J. Bullard fights rampant racism and military authority to get his men, also known as the Tuskegee Airmen, the types of missions for which they have trained. Bullard and Maj. Emmanuel Stance must also prevent internal strife between the men from destroying the unit from within. Finally earning the assignment to escort the first bombers to attack Berlin, the Airmen find themselves in the thick of the battle when their relief squadrons fail to appear. Despite heavy losses, the Airmen distinguish themselves in the air fight and help to bring more racial equality to the military ranks. |
