An act of violence involving two eleven-year-old New York boys leads to their parents attempting to parley and discuss the altercation. Zachary Cowan and Ethan Longstreet wound up in an argument at Brooklyn Bridge Park that resulted in Ethan being hit in the face with a hard stick, costing him at least one of his teeth. Ethan's level-headed, altruistic parents invite Zachary's neurotic type-A parents to their home in an earnest effort to talk about the matter with civility, but egos emerge as their conversation progresses and civility degenerates into outright hostility. The Cowans' fitness to raise a child comes into question, as does the state of each couple's relationship and the roles that they all play in the world in which they live. |
