This biopic of J. Edgar Hoover's life and career is seen through Hoover's own eyes. It focuses mainly on Hoover's career at the FBI and the power he ultimately wielded on his enemies. Once he hires Clyde Tolson, Tolson quickly climbs the ladder and eventually becomes Hoover's right hand man as Assistant Director. Hoover sees himself as more involved in high profile cases than he actually was and focuses on the terror that Hoover caused many with his FBI files. |
