Overview
Oskar is a young boy who recently went through the turmoil of losing his father in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. He is having a very difficult time figuring out how to move on from this tragedy, and he lashes out against everyone he comes into contact with, especially his mother, who is fighting a battle of her own. A year after his death, Oskar finds a mysterious key among his dad's things, and he becomes obsessed with figuring out what the key is meant to unlock. He begins to undertake an epic journey that he hopes will lead him to that elusive lock and much deeper insights into his beloved father. Along the way, the bereaved boy will forge several significant friendships.
