Overview
Dexter and Emma spend the night of college graduation together, and because of their intimacy on that very important night, they are connected throughout the rest of their lives, even when they are nowhere near each other. Every year, we see what they are up to, and while they are sometimes together during that particular day, sometimes they are doing wildly different things. Emma is very intelligent, but she has never had a very easy time achieving success. Dexter, meanwhile, doesn't have to work very hard; all the good things in life seem to just come to him naturally. As their lives progress, their fortunes begin to reverse, and they find themselves understanding each other better and wondering if mutual romance is in their future.
