Kathryn Bolkovac is a police officer from the United States who takes a job as one of the peacekeepers in Bosnia following their civil war. As the days progress, she becomes increasingly disturbed by a climate that fosters corruption and greed without much interference from diplomats from various nations who also seem to a part of the problem, all looking the other way as to what is really happening in the country. Bolkovac risks her own job as well as her life when she reports that officials at the United Nations have managed to cover up a scandal involving sexual assault. |
