Overview
Jonathan Ames is a struggling novelist and journalist for a high-profile New York magazine. When his girlfriend dumps him, he finds himself with a lot of time on his hands and little inspiration for writing. After reading a detective novel, Jonathan gets the idea to market himself as an unlicensed private detective on Craigslist to make some extra cash. Together with comic-book writer Ray and pot-smoking editor George, a bumbling Jonathan manages to solve an array of unusual cases.
