Overview
A congressional representative named Charlie Wilson has a reputation for being both a womanizer and a shallow man. However, under the initial impression, he's a member of two huge foreign policy covert operations committees. When Wilson learns about people suffering in Afghanistan, he abandons his current political agenda and turns all of his efforts toward supplying the Afghan rebels with weaponry to take down the Soviet Union. But though his heart is good and his passion shines through, he has a lot to learn about humanity. Military victory comes at a high price, and there are some consequences that can never be undone.
