Overview
When Bambi’s mother is killed by a hunter in the forest, he is taken in by his father, a buck called The Great Prince. Although the Great Prince is reluctant to raise Bambi, a winter food shortage makes it impossible for one of the other does to take him in. The Prince and Bambi begin to make a life together, with the Prince passing on his hard-gained wisdom about life in the forest. Bambi wants to impress his father with his courage and wisdom but discovers that growing up is filled with challenges. Bambi has a run-in with a porcupine. He has romantic feelings for a deer named Faline, and is challenged for her affections by another deer named Ronno.
